The Kootenai Metropolitan Planning Organization is proposing an annual $50 vehicle registration fee initiative on the November ballot to fund road improvements, as published by the Coeur d’Alene Press this morning.
This initiative corresponds directly with the organization’s recommendations to raise the $216,177,014 for regional construction projects, as outlined in their 326 page, 2020 Master Transportation Plan.
One should keep in mind that this registration fee is in addition to the proposed $20+ Million Bond Levy needed to pay for the Greensferry bridge.
